At JSR Charcoal, we believe progress in renewable energy is built not only on technology but also on collaboration and shared knowledge. In our journey to turn waste into sustainable power, we understand that partnerships with academia play a vital role in driving long-term innovation.
Recently, JSR Charcoal signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), marking a meaningful step forward in linking academic research with industrial application. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing renewable energy development in Malaysia, especially in the field of biomass-to-energy conversion.
Through this partnership, both parties aim to:
- Encourage joint research on biomass gasification and energy recovery technologies.
- Provide hands-on industry experience for students and researchers.
- Support Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and the nation’s vision for a low-carbon economy.
For JSR, this collaboration is more than a formal agreement — it is about building a bridge between ideas and action. UTAR brings a strong foundation in engineering and environmental studies, while JSR offers real-world insights from active renewable energy operations under the Feed-in Tariff 2.0 (FiT 2.0) program managed by SEDA Malaysia. Together, this partnership represents a step toward a more integrated ecosystem for green innovation — where research meets practice, and knowledge transforms into clean energy solutions.
As our project continues to evolve, we look forward to sharing more about the discoveries and milestones that arise from this collaboration.
